Synopsis

At the beginning of the twentieth century, in Belle Époque Naples, actor and playwright Eduardo Scarpetta reaches the height of theatrical success with the character Felice Sciosciammocca. His life moves between the stage and a complex family world, where the young De Filippo siblings grow up surrounded by theatre.

When Scarpetta decides to parody Gabriele D’Annunzio’s drama The Daughter of Iorio, the premiere leads to a legal battle that affects his artistic and personal life. The film follows his defence of satire and the changing world of Neapolitan theatre.n
